ABOUT US

Oxbow Van Conversions was founded by Greg Schultze and Chris Synoground in Bend, Oregon, with one goal in mind: to turn adventure dreams into reality. With years of experience in the building and construction trades, they combined their skills and passion for the outdoors to create custom camper van conversions that are functional, durable, and designed for life on the road. What started as a side project quickly grew into Oxbow Vans—a trusted name in custom van builds, camper van conversions, and adventure-ready vans in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Greg Schultze

Greg has a degree in Business and Energy Management from the University of Oklahoma. With his experience in residential and commercial energy efficiency, he has applied his expertise to the van platform. Greg’s first vehicle was a fifteen-passenger van that he converted into a dirt bike van with his dad. Since then the passion has grown into a full-blown obsession. As a mountain bike guide in Washington and Oregon, it was apparent that vans provide a unique opportunity to get people outside.

Hayden Johnson

Hayden’s our Shop Manager and a true road warrior. For the past six years, he’s been cruising around the Pacific Northwest, sharpening his camper remodeling and upfitting chops. From wiring up slick electrical systems in Salt Lake City to breathing new life into vintage Airstreams, he’s tackled just about every kind of build out there. When he’s not turning wrenches in the shop, you’ll probably catch him dialing in his own ’84 truck camper or hitting the local skate park for a session.

Lefty

Lefty is our Sales & Marketing Manager and a lifelong explorer at heart. Before diving into the camper world, he built award-winning cafés and catering spots on the East Coast. After four years of full-time van life, he landed in Bend to help grow small businesses in the off-grid camper scene. When he’s not chatting with customers or cooking up marketing ideas, you can bet he’s out chasing dirt roads and mountain views in his own rig.

Poubelle

Poubelle is our resident shop dog and professional nap enthusiast. Her name means “trash can” in French—a nod to her humble beginnings scavenging snacks at a French glamping camp in Southern California. These days, she’s traded dumpsters for dog beds and prefers supervising projects from a sunny spot on the shop floor. She’s one of those rare Huskies who hardly ever howls and is perfectly content to take it easy.
